Uterine fibroids are common growths in the walls of the uterus (womb). Fibroids contain smooth muscle cells and connective tissue. They can be as small as an apple seed or as large as a grapefruit. They grow from a single cell that divides over and over again, becoming a firm rubbery mass distinct from normal tissue. Fibroids usually grow from the time a woman starts menstruating until she gets pregnant and during the years she has children, but they tend to shrink after menopause. Fibroids aren’t cancerous, and they don’t increase a person’s risk of getting other kinds of tumors in the uterus.
Doctors and researchers don’t know what causes uterine fibroids. But they think that female hormones, especially estrogen and progesterone, cause them to grow. Fibroids have more cells that bind to these hormones than do typical uterine muscle cells. They also have more extracellular matrix, which makes cells stick together and store growth factors. This is probably why they grow faster during pregnancy.
The symptoms of uterine fibroids are heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain and urinary problems. Sometimes, fibroid tumors are so large that they can make it hard to breathe. In other cases, the fibroid tumors are so close to the bladder that it’s difficult to empty the bladder completely. If you have a lot of fibroids, they can be so big that they cause pregnancy complications. These can include miscarriage and a premature baby, or the uterus may be too big to fit a healthy baby inside.
Women who have uterine fibroids are more likely to need treatment than women who don’t have them. Doctors treat uterine fibroids with medications, surgery and other methods. Some of the newer treatments are less invasive than traditional surgery.

A medicine called GnRH agonists, or GnRha, reduces the size of uterine fibroids by blocking the production of female hormones. These drugs can also relieve uterine bleeding, improve the low blood count (anemia) caused by heavy bleeding and prevent the growth of new fibroids. But when the drugs are stopped, fibroids grow back quickly.
Some websites and health books promote alternative treatments for uterine fibroids, including a special diet, magnet therapy, black cohosh, herbal preparations and homeopathy. But there isn’t enough scientific evidence that any of these treatments helps. 자궁근종한약 Acupuncture may ease the symptoms of uterine fibroids. But it’s important to find a licensed practitioner. He or she should place very thin needles in certain points on the body. Small studies suggest that acupuncture works better when it’s done along with other therapies, such as medication.탕자감을마리누 알리기프트
